International Nursing Scholarships

I) East Tennessee State University International Merit Scholarship

Any international student who is interested in attaining a degree from Eastern Tennessee State University may apply for this award if they have a record of academic achievement comparable to a 3.0 GPA.

Recipients must have an F-1 or J-1 student visa.

Amount: Up to $9,000

2) March of Dimes’ Undergraduate Nursing Diversity Scholarship

This grant is given to an undergraduate from an underrepresented racial or ethnic minority in the nursing field. Students enrolled in an accredited nursing school who intend to work in maternity and infant health are eligible to apply.

Amount: $10,000

3) University of Illinois Chicago Laurette Kirstein Scholarship for international students.

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) awards scholarships to current international UIC students pursuing a full-time undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree in any field of study, including nursing. Students must hold a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA at UIC.

Amount: $5,000

4) University of Missouri’s Sinclair School of Nursing The Bobby Joe Waggoner Memorial Scholarship

The Waggoner scholarship, established for graduate students at the school, provides first preference to non-traditional students who demonstrate financial need.

5) Emergency Nursing Diverse Voices Research Fellowship

The Emergency Nurses Association established this grant to help first-time nurse researchers who specialize in emergency healthcare and are members of underrepresented demographics.

Amount: Funding for research and related travel

6) Epsilon Sigma Alpha Alice/Jeanne Wagner Memorial Scholarship

U.S. and international students planning to attend undergraduate or graduate nursing programs in the United States are welcome to apply. Candidates must exhibit academic success, leadership, service, and financial need. Epsilon Sigma Alpha is a nonprofit organization dedicated to worldwide service.

Amount: $800

7) THEDREAM.US National Scholarship

Immigrant pupils who arrived in the United States before November 1, 2018 and were under the age of 16. Successful applicants must be eligible for in-state tuition at one of the organization’s partner universities. (There is a second scholarship for students who do not qualify for in-state tuition.)

Amount: Up to $16,500 for associate degrees and $33,000 for bachelor’s degrees.

8) Esperanza Education Fund Scholarship

This grant is open to graduating high school seniors who live in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia, or who have completed a high school equivalent in those states within the last four years. The candidate and/or both parents must have been born outside of the United States.

Amount: Up to $20,000

9) Slippery Rock University International Student Tuition Waiver

Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania provides financial help to all new international undergraduate students, including nursing students, regardless of their financial situation. Students who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher receive further assistance.

Amount: Approximately $3,500 plus up to $2,000 for academic achievement

10) University of California San Francisco School of Nursing Styles International Student Scholarship

USCF is well-known for its commitment to developing advanced researchers and specialists. The scholarship, named for previous dean Margretta Styles, is offered to international master’s and doctoral nursing students.
